Dr Sarah Benton
BDSc (Hons), D.Clin.Dent (perio), FRACDS
Sarah completed most of her undergraduate dental degree (with honours) at the University of Western Australia, before joining the Navy and being granted sponsorship in the undergraduate scheme to complete her last two years, then serving the next 10 years in Australia and on overseas ships. Sarah attained her Fellowship in General Dentistry in 2016 and in 2017 relocated from her final posting in Cairns to the Gold Coast to start post graduate specialist training in Periodontics. This was completed in 2019 and her research thesis was on the effect of Vaping on Oral Health and inflammation.
Sarah’s favourite aspect of periodontics is that it is not only technically challenging, but unlike many specialist areas, clinicians build long term relationships with patients.
On weekends, Sarah can be found at local dressage or eventing competitions, rockclimbing, or enjoying time on the beach.
